Debra Pearlman, CEO - DP Sales Pro - Consulting, Training and Coaching
Debra Pearlman, CEO

Full-time employment began at the age of 18.  Doing the 'New York City Shuffle', the bus from Central New Jersey into the Port Authority took about 1-1/2 hours.  Then, along with hundreds of other 'shufflers', I walked in sneakers to my office.  (Once there I did change to high heels!)

Several years have passed since that first bus ride and I've seen and done quite a bit.  The most valuable experience came while I was employed at JRM Industries.  I was handed a very thick sample book and told 'go sell something'.  Starting on the top floor of a building in the garment district, I knocked on every door on every floor making my way down to the lobby.  Then I went to the next building and did the same thing.  The most difficult thing about this position was finding a clean restroom!  After two years of cultivating my direct sales, I created relationships with distributors in order to increase my efforts.  By the end of my fourth year with JRM, I was directly responsible for 10% of the total company sales.

In working with my distributors, I uncovered my passion for training.  In an effort to ensure their sales agents were presenting and selling my products while conveying my message accurately, I conducted in-house training.  Additionally, their sales agents were taught how to best advise their clients of the features and benefits of my product line by my joining them on individual sales calls.

Intertwined with my pursuit of professional aspirations, I married a wonderful man with whom I have three beautiful boys.  I became an advocate for our local school district and was voted President of the PTA.  Wanting to do more, I ran for the Board of Education and was elected twice for 3 year terms each.  It was at the beginning of my second term that I felt strongly about furthering my own education.  I stepped down from the Board of Education position and enrolled in the University of Phoenix Online.  For the next 3-1/2 years I worked all day, was a mom and homemaker until 9:00 PM, and then an online student for the rest of the night.  Our family flew to Arizona during the summer of 2005 to watch me walk down the aisle in my cap and gown!

Now, over 25 years and several Sales Management and Training positions since my first bus ride into New York City, I utilize the skills I cultivated in the sales arena to assist other sales professionals in reaching and exceeding their own goals.

CEO's know that what we offer is a strong differentiating factor. We learn the job of their sales agents.  We learn about their company, their strengths and weaknesses, as well as conduct in-depth competitive analyses.  Strong presentation and scripting dialogues are developed with their sales staff to ensure they are trained and 'buy-in' is achieved.

One-on-one sales coaching allows us to assist individual sales agents in sharpening specific sales skills.

My Personal Purpose Statement:  To use my passion, enthusiasm, and natural abilities to inspire, teach, and motivate others so that they, too, can realize their goals and achieve success.
